Advantages to aid agencies

We can provide you with substantial manpower support. Each group of volunteers gives you the equivalent of 8-man-weeks’ work over just a 2 week period!

There is no cost burden for you apart from logistical support. You would need to designate a co-ordinator  from your own team, who would ensure your volunteers were started in useful work on the day after arrival.

As our relationship with you grows, we would be able to provide volunteers with skills for specific projects that you might have - such as nursing, children, electrical, building, computer, etc.

After seeing and experiencing at first hand the work that you do, some participants will want to establish a closer and ongoing relationship with you. This could develop into important support/donor relationship.

Get involved!

You need...

• To be a recognised charitable organisation.
• To commit to this program for at least three months.
• To accept at least one group (of no more than 10 volunteers) every month.
• To be capable and ready to designate a co-ordinator for ensuring volunteers from Holiday Volunteers are fully employed from the day after their arrival.
• To provide suitable accommodation with bathroom facilities. This can be dormitory-type but must have separate male and female quarters. Holiday Volunteers can be flexible on facilities provided - which will be inspected before the start of a program - such as an offer of 7 beds in one type of accommodation, 3 in another, dormitory, single room, ensuite bathroom, etc. Payment for these accommodation facilities will be made to the aid agency by Holiday Volunteers; no payment shall be paid by, or asked of, volunteers.
• To provide three meals daily. This can be provided in the same locations as provided for your fulltime staff. Western food need not be provided, but local food should be traditional and not exotic. Please note that volunteers from western countries may consume volumes greater than local consumers. Alcoholic beverages need not be provided. A facility that allows volunteers to augment their consumption at their own cost would be appreciated (such as access to a local store to buy Coca-Cola and cigarettes) but is not a requirement.
